Time: 10.30am Bangkok Time
Venue: Erawan Shrine
Day 5 of our holiday, time flies very fast. Today's itinerary is the visit of the famous weekend Chatuchak Market. Before that some of us visited the famous 4 faced Buddha at the Erawan Shrine.
Dancers are performing at the side of the Shrine. Quite a small shrine about the size of a basketball court.
1. Mo Chit Station is situated at zone 4 which cost 30 Baht per person.
3. Estimated about Bugis Village + Chinatown + Rochor Market + Clark Quay + Boat Quay.
4. Best to arrange a meet up time and place when going with a group of friends.
1. Too many items are sold at this weekend market, bags, shoes, clothing, accessories, handicrafts, souvenirs, counterfeit goods, food, drinks, massaging stalls etc etc etc....
2. But the main attraction for me are the sale of pets, from cute little dressed up bunnies to super duper kawaii puppies, Chatuchak offers other exotic pets like lizards and etc.
3. Sad to see these little bunnies in small little cages stacked 5 tiers up and those uncaged puppies fondled by numerous tourists hoping for a kind owner to purchase them.
Bangkok Chatuchak Roadside Menu
1. Deep Fried Crispy Grasshoppers
2. Deep Fried Fat & Juicy Worms
3. Deep Fried Crickets with spring onions
4. Deep Fried Juicy Cockroaches
5. Deep Fried Soft & Tender Chicks (Gross)
At about 5pm we proceed back to our hotel via a smokey journey on the Tuk Tuks at about 100 Baht per vehicle. Later we went for a Traditional Thai massage to relieve our exhaustion accumulated these few days. Lastly casino 1307 till late night. End of Day 5.
